The Governor of El Oued State announces the official opening of the Medical Annex at the University of El Oued
Today, September 24, 2023, the Governor of El Oued Province announced the official opening and launch of classes at the Medical Annex at the University of Martyr Hama Lakhdar during a joyful celebration in the Grand Lecture Hall, Abu Al-Qasim Saadallah.
In his important speech before announcing the official opening of the attaché, the state governor said, “My support for the establishment of the medical attaché is a duty that I perform within the framework of my work, just as I do it in all sectors in the state.” He added, praising the great role played by the University Rector in this achievement, “I say frankly that the one who came up with the idea was Professor Farhati, who presented to us the idea of the annex project, so we adopted it and supported him and those who were diligent with him in completing the medical annex.” The Governor of the state also noted the role of the President of the Republic in approving the annex project, given that the state of El Oued has always been an example in many achievements due to the energies and capabilities it has, and it only needs to be supported and highlighted. The College of Medicine in El Oued, as he said, will be one of the best colleges at the level. the National. On the occasion, Mr. Governor of the state also thanked those who supported the project, including the former Director of Health and Population, his medical and administrative team, the President of the State People’s Assembly, his deputies, and the elected representatives, in addition to the parliamentary representatives and the people of this state, including private individuals and associations.
The opening ceremony was attended by the local administrative, security and military authorities, led by the Governor of the Oued Province, the Revolutionary Family, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Batna, followed by the Medical Attaché and the Director of the Attaché, Professor Samir Darwish, the Vice-Rectors of the University, the Deans of the Faculties, the Secretary-General of the University and the President of the Al-Shifa Association for Health, Humanity and Algerian Scientific Creativity. The Frenchman, Dr. Yahya Abdul-Mumen Al-Makki, a virology specialist from the University of Lyon in France, as well as the representative of the Society of Private Doctors, the representative of the Medical Alliance Society of Private Doctors, and several veteran doctors, in addition to the annex’s students, estimated at 155 students.
For his part, the University Rector, Professor Omar Farhati, in his welcoming speech, thanked the audience for responding to the invitation and considered that the opening of the annex constitutes a historic event in relation to the course of the medical annex project file, which was initially known for several difficulties, but the efforts of everyone - as he said - ultimately culminated in an achievement. On this occasion, several speeches were delivered by the Director of the Annex, Professor Samir Darwish, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in Batna, Professor Ben Abbas Monsef, the representative of the Director of Health and Population, the President of the Private Doctors Association and the President of the Medical Alliance Association. A video presentation was also presented about the new medical annex and health capabilities in the state, and an intervention by Dr. Mariqa Lamin about the history of health in the state of El Oued, in addition to showing a historical tape about the martyr fighter Malika Kayed. The state governor, the head of the state popular council, and a number of old doctors and pharmacists were also honored.
