The Laboratory of Biology, Environment, and Health (L.B.E.S) comprises multidisciplinary teams specializing in the fields of biology, environment, health, metabolic and non-metabolic diseases, bioactive compounds, plant physiology, ecology and agricultural engineering, as well as soil and water sciences. All these fields are considered key factors in sustainable economic, agricultural, environmental, and health development.

Preamble
The laboratory was accredited on April 29, 2020. It is located in the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences and consists of 29 permanent professors and researchers, as well as 46 PhD students.
Laboratory Mission
he various topics developed or being developed by our researchers include:
- Studying natural products, particularly plant-based ones, that are widespread in desert regions.
- Investigating mechanisms to improve the economic, agricultural, and environmental efficiency of desert agricultural systems.
- Examining and understanding stresses caused by environmental factors affecting both ecosystems and human health
- Working on the conservation and valorization of plant species, especially wild ones, in the health sector.
- Conducting environmental research and studies aimed at solving various ecological problems.
- Developing and identifying effective and cost-efficient biological pesticides.
