4.3.3 – Does your university as an educational body host events at university that are open to the general public: executive education programmes (this refers to short courses for people who are not attending the university; this specifically excludes courses like MBA) and/or vocational training?

The University of El Oued (UEO) actively provides educational programs in the form of short courses and vocational training to the non-affiliated general public. This commitment is fulfilled through direct collaboration with external government and community bodies to deliver high-demand, skill-based workshops.

Executive Education

The university confirmed its provision of short, specialized training workshops to the local community as part of a significant public forum:

  • Public Outreach and Training Delivery: on 13 February 2024, the university of El Oued participated in the Souf Youth Forum organized by the external Supreme Youth Council in the Wilaya. This forum served as the platform for the university to deliver training workshops to a diverse, public audience, confirming the provision of educational programs for those not attending the university.
  • Audience and Collaboration: The event was attended by high-level local authorities, including the Governor and the President of the Supreme Youth Council, alongside representatives from civil society and the general youth community. The university’s official delegation, which included the University Director and deans, confirmed the institutional commitment to this external training delivery.

  • Vocational Topics: The workshops focused on high-demand, vocational and executive topics, including:
    • Empowerment in Desert Agriculture (Fellaha)
    • Programming and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
    • Empowering Effective Associations for Community Work

This activity confirms that UEO uses its expertise to provide targeted, short-format training in high-priority vocational and professional fields to members of the local community who are not registered students.
