The Deputy Chairman of the Regional Conference for the East presents the conclusions of the Modernization Working Group to the University of El Oued<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr. Deputy Chairman of the Regional Conference for the East, Professor Bushaar Merzouk Fahim, presided over the proceedings of the meeting of the University Modernization Working Group on January 23, 2023, which took place in the Grand Lecture Hall Abu Al-Qasim Saadallah at the University of El Oued.<\/p>\n

Professor Omar Ferhati, the University’s rector, welcomed the attendees, consisting of the Vice-Deans, Deans of the faculties, and university staff, before handing over the floor to the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Conference, who delivered a presentation on the conclusions of the Modernization Working Group and the proposed agenda. According to the ministry’s approach, the number of new fields has decreased from 14 pedagogical and scientific fields to only five. Additionally, the number of departments decreased from approximately 80 to 36, where consolidation and linkage between closely related fields occurred, such as the fields of humanities, social sciences, and sports, the field of economics, political science, and law, the field of arts and translation, the field of life and health sciences, and the field of science and technology, which includes science, technology, material science, computer science, earth sciences, and astrophysics.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Chairman of the Regional Conference also presented the concept of university poles that the ministry intends to adopt after enriching the project with the university community. These poles, which include a group of geographically close universities and university centers, enable mutual benefit from scientific and logistical resources within the framework of the university pole concept. The meeting witnessed several discussions and proposals from the attendees regarding the presented points.<\/p>\n
