Guided by Algeria&#8217;s robust legal framework on wage equality, this policy outlines the university&#8217;s approach to ensuring pay scale equity, with a particular focus on identifying and addressing gender-based pay disparities.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #416a64;\"><strong>Legal Framework<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">The University of El Oued adheres to the following national laws and regulations on wage equality:<\/span><\/p><ol><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\"><strong>Algerian Public Service Law (Law No. 133-66, June 2, 1966):<\/strong><\/span><ul><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">Article 5 prohibits gender-based differentiation in the application of pay laws, except in cases requiring specific physical readiness for designated roles.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\"><strong>Order No. 06-03 (July 15, 2006):<\/strong><\/span><ul><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">Article 26 underscores that discrimination based on gender, opinions, origin, or social circumstances is strictly forbidden.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">Article 27 reinforces non-discrimination in employment practices.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #000000;\">Article 74 mandates equality in public service recruitment and employment, establishing a legal basis for pay equity.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; Awareness Programs:<\/strong><\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ul><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Conduct workshops and training sessions to educate staff about pay equity laws and the university\u2019s commitment to these principles.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Launching the process of training and pedagogical accompaniment for newly employed professors at the University of El Oued<\/strong><\/div><div dir=\"auto\"><div dir=\"auto\">Today, Saturday, September 09, 2023, at the University of Martyr Hama Lakhdar, the training and pedagogical support process for newly hired professors began in the large lecture hall of Abu Al-Qasim Saadallah, under the supervision of the university director, Professor Omar Farhati, and in the presence of his deputies for scientific research and training, Professor Boubaker Mansour, and for pedagogy, Professor Bashir Manai, and the dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences, Professor Abdelwahab Mansour, and the head of the quality cell, Professor Fares Saadi, and a group of training professors and all the trained professors, totaling 217 professors, in addition to the professors of the Higher School of Saharan Agriculture, totaling 17 professors.\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">The meeting was opened by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research with an opening speech in which he presented the two-week training program as a first stage in an intensive training that includes many important criteria related to the newly hired professor-researcher in order to begin his pedagogical and research work. The Vice-Rector for Pedagogy also came forward to announce the start of the training process in the name of the University President.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Professor Bilal Boutrara, Head of the Department of Social Sciences, gave the opening lecture entitled \u201cPolicy and Objectives of University Education\u201d, through which he aimed to explain the basic law of the research professor and the role of the professor in understanding his pedagogical and scientific tasks, as well as the moral and national responsibility of the professor and meeting the aspirations and cognitive needs of students and helping them acquire scientific skills. In the second lecture, Professor Houidi Abdel Basset, Vice President of the University\u2019s Professional Ethics Committee, addressed the ethical foundations of the university professor profession, in which he explained the importance of the foundations that the professor must adhere to in the pedagogical and research fields. In the evening, Professor Nabil Mezouar, a member of the Professional Ethics Committee, gave a lecture entitled \u201cProfessional Ethics, Etiquette and Rules\u201d, in which he addressed the rights and obligations of the university professor amidst the interaction of the trainee professors, which was concluded with an extensive discussion and the committee members\u2019 answers to the questions raised.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">The Rector of the University and his Deputy for Scientific Research attached the utmost importance to the process of training and pedagogical accompaniment for newly employed professors in accordance with the instructions of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Kamal Badari, and the outcomes of the national and regional symposium in developing and effectiveness of the university institution and its positive training returns across all its scopes and economic, technological, social and cultural surroundings.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9725 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D&#39;http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg&#39;%20width=&#39;720&#39;%20height=&#39;462&#39;%20viewBox%3D&#39;0%200%20720%20462&#39;%2F%3E\" data-czlz data-src=\"https:\/\/www.univ-eloued.dz\/sdg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/s06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"462\" \/><\/div><\/div><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #c1965a;\"><a style=\"color: #c1965a;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-eloued.dz\/en\/pedagogical-accompaniment-2\/\">https:\/\/www.univ-eloued.dz\/en\/pedagogical-accompaniment-2\/<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Monitoring and Reporting<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">The University of El Oued is dedicated to continuous improvement in its pay equity practices. Annual reports on wage equality will be prepared, including findings from pay audits and steps taken to address identified gaps.
