font-size: 16px;\">Scope: This policy applies to all university-owned and operated buildings, including academic, administrative, residential, and auxiliary facilities.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p align=\"justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">Policy Statement: The University of El Oued is committed to promoting energy efficiency in all its infrastructure projects. All renovations and new constructions shall:<\/span><\/strong><\/p><ol><li><p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">Compliance with National Regulations:<\/span><\/strong><\/p><ul><li><p align=\"justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">Adhere to Algeria&#8217;s national energy efficiency standards and building codes, as outlined in the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Development Plan 2015-2030. <\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">Alignment with International Standards:<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ol><p align=\"justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\"><a name=\"_GoBack\"><\/a> Incorporate best practices from international energy efficiency guidelines, such as those provided by the International Energy Agency (IEA). <\/span><\/strong><\/p><ol start=\"3\"><li><p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">Integration of Renewable Energy:<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ol><p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">Utilize renewable energy sources, including solar and wind, in building designs, in line with Algeria&#8217;s commitment to increasing renewable energy capacity. The University of El Oued is already implementing this by integrating solar energy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with a total solar energy consumption of 20.6 kW, contributing significantly to its sustainability goals.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><ol start=\"4\"><li><p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">Energy Performance Monitoring:<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ol><p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">Implement systems to monitor and report energy consumption, ensuring continuous improvement in energy performance.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><ol start=\"5\"><li><p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">Stakeholder Engagement:<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ol><p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">Involve the university&#8217;s Renewable Energy Research Unit and the Faculty of Technology in planning and implementing energy-efficient projects.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;
