This engagement is crucial for transparent reporting and aligning institutional data with global standards, which is a key requirement for SDG monitoring.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\"><strong>\u00a0National Leadership in UI GreenMetric<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On December 18, 2024, the University celebrated achieving first place nationally in the 2024 UI GreenMetric World University Ranking. This global ranking specifically assesses universities&#8217; performance in environmental sustainability and sustainable development. The celebration, overseen by the University Director, Professor Omar Ferhati, and attended by key academic and administrative staff, recognized the specialized team responsible for collecting, measuring, and submitting the vast amounts of required data\u2014including metrics on energy use, water management, waste, and sustainability education\u2014according to GreenMetric&#8217;s universal methodology. The Director praised the team\u2019s efforts and confirmed the University\u2019s ongoing strategy to maintain leadership by continuing to develop environmentally friendly infrastructure, expand renewable energy use, and integrate sustainability topics into curricula. This meeting was chaired by the University Director and included the Vice-Directors, the Head of the Visibility Committee, deans, and technical specialists. The primary focus was on reviewing the status and strategy for preparing for the QS Ranking and other international classifications. The meeting included presentations by the International Expert Hamza La\u00efar, who highlighted achievements like the Webometrics ranking, and the Visibility Committee Head, who discussed the data required for international rankings like THE (Times Higher Education) and QS. The Director stressed the necessity of collaborative scientific and technical effort from all parties to resolve outstanding issues and enhance the University&#8217;s visibility.
